Instructor Information

Hannah O'Handley, RN, MSN, CPNP
I have been a nurse many years. I worked and taught in most areas except psych nursing. My beginning was in medical surgical nursing ICU nursing. I did not have an interest in pediatric nursing until later in my career. One great thing about our profession -- you can always change! One goal as coordinator of N497 is that you all have a positive experience learning to approach and care for children. Even though the data shows only about 20 % of you enter pediatric nursing, I hope you all learn information that will assist you in your career and personal life.

I am physically present on campus Monday, Thursday, and Friday. If you would like to meet with me face-to-face, feel free to send an email and I would be most happy to schedule a time for us to meet.

Communication with Me:  You may communicate via email, text or phone. Please call no later than 9 p.m. I will respond quickest to you with text or email.

I have been a pediatric nurse for the majority of my career (all except 5 months). Most of my experience has come from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). However, becoming a clinical instructor for MCCN revealed the rest of the pediatric population to me, and I began working as an In-House Agency RN for NCH. This position allows me to work on most units of the hospital with a variety of pediatric patients and keep up on my bedside skills and interactions in addition to the full-time instructor position at the CON. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and working with you to help you achieve your goals in the pediatric course.
